Description

In-person class at Fox Chapel Area High School.

knit or crochet yarn pilesBeginner friendly! No experience necessary!

Curious about knitting and crochet but not sure how they differ? This fun, one-night introduction is the perfect place to start.

Join accomplished fiber artist Randi Voss as she explores these two popular fiber arts and explains what makes each one unique. You'll see and handle finished examples, learn about the tools and techniques used for each craft, and watch live demonstrations of both knitting and crochet.

Students will also have the opportunity to hold the needles and hooks and briefly try a few basic stitches. While this is not a learn-to-knit or learn-to-crochet class, you'll leave with a clear understanding of the differences between the two crafts and a better sense of which one—or perhaps both—is right for you.

Whether you're considering a new hobby or simply want to satisfy your curiosity, this engaging evening will help you take the first step into the world of fiber arts.

Bonus: students are invited to bring yarn crafts from home and ask questions on their materials, construction of the item and/or tips for remaking or mending a project.

This class is a perfect companion to our Crochet: Learn the Basics and/or Knitting for Beginners series which follow!
