Beginner friendly, no experience necessary!
This hands-on class is ideal for anyone who wants to learn to crochet. Whether you have never touched a crochet hook before or tried years ago and need a refresher, this class is designed to build your skills and confidence from the ground up.
The secret to beautiful crochet work is consistent tension, which is achieved by maintaining steady control over your yarn. The best way to learn that control is through practice. This six-week class provides a relaxed amount of time for your skills to develop. You will benefit from in-class demonstrations, dedicated practice time, and personalized instruction tailored to your pace. Between classes, you are encouraged to practice at home and return with questions.
Instructor Cat Connor has been crocheting since childhood and will provide personalized guidance ensuring you get the support you need to overcome any stumbling blocks. This class will cover:
- Foundations: Make a slip knot, form the initial chain, and master stitch tension
- Core Stitches: Learn single crochet, double crochet, slip stitch, increases, decreases, and specialty stitches.
- Finishing Techniques: Join yarn and weave in ends.
- Pattern Reading: Decode standard abbreviations and learn to read written patterns.
