Description
In-person class at Fox Chapel Area High School
Beginner friendly! No experience necessary!
NEW! Turn plain white cotton fabric into stunning indigo art through Shibori! This traditional Japanese resist-dyeing technique uses folding, binding, twisting, and clamping to create one-of-a-kind fabrics.
Instructor Elaine Edelman will guide you step-by-step through the process of designing and dying two cotton pieces. Watch as your pieces transform from bright green to deep, oceanic blue right before your eyes! The indigo dye is eco-friendly, but it will stain fabrics, so wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty.
Class fee includes all materials to dye two cotton pieces such as a napkin or bandana. This one-night class is a perfect opportunity to experiment with a new and relaxing art form. At the end of class, you will take home your own beautifully patterned, unique textiles. Just wear old clothes—all you need to bring is your creativity!
