NEW! MORE WEEKS! FCAAE is pleased to add aqua jogging to its swim offerings! Perfect for cross training, recovering from an injury, visiting with friends while exercising, or for anyone looking to stay fit without stressing their joints.
Aqua jogging involves running in place in deep water using a flotation belt and bungee cord to stay afloat and in one place. It uses water resistance to provide a cardiovascular and muscular workout, but its low-impact nature puts less of a strain on joints. Benefits of aqua exercise include:
- Low impact: Minimizes joint stress, making it ideal for injury recovery and prevention.
- Full-body workout: Engage muscles in your core, legs, and arms.
- Cardiovascular fitness: Build aerobic stamina and endurance.
- Muscle strength: Burn fat and build muscle just like land-based exercises.
Just like lap swim, this is a self-led activity. There is no instructor, and you can set your own pace. Flotation belts and bungee cords are available to use, or you can bring your own.
