Build An Adirondack Chair S26

Join local resident and lifelong woodworker Bill Sparks as he guides you step-by-step through the chair-building process. You'll learn safe woodworking practices, improve your technique, and gain the confidence to take on future projects. Each class features live demonstrations followed by guided work time.

Attendance at the first session is required. Key shop safety protocols will be covered.

You’ll build a solid outdoor chair (approximately 35 lbs) using pressure-treated wood for any parts that contact the ground—ensuring durability and enjoyment for years to come.

Skills you willl learn include: 

• Proper cutting techniques using various saws
• Shaping wood with a router
• Sanding for smooth finishes
• Accurate hole drilling
• Strong joinery methods
• Wood finishing, weatherproofing, and maintenance (to be completed at home)

Participants who can transport their chair materials to and from class are encouraged to do so. Storage options will be available for those who are unable. There will also be delivery options available for students who are unable to transport their assembled chair.
