With a three-decade career at the University of Pittsburgh and over 50 years of experience living in and traveling to Northern Ireland, Tony brings deep knowledge and firsthand perspectives to this discussion.

This class provides an overview of the conflict, beginning with the events leading up to the violence of 1969 and continuing through the 1994 IRA and Loyalist ceasefires.

The political and historical situation in Northern Ireland is often emotionally charged. This course aims to set aside romanticized or one-sided narratives, offering a thoughtful and objective analysis of this turbulent period.
