Would you like to explore a beautiful art form that can also help calm you mind and reduce anxiety? Join Lam Gray, owner of Lam Gray Calligraphy and Art, for a calligraphy series focused on Copperplate script. No prior experience is needed. This class welcomes both beginners and students with some calligraphy experience. A list of class supplies is provided below.

Copperplate is a classic pointed pen calligraphy script that originated in the 17th century. It is characterized by alternating strokes of shades and hairlines, with a regular rhythm, making it very elegant and formal. The version that Lam will be teaching is formally known as Engrosser’s script. Lam will demonstrate techniques and provide hands-on guidance as you learn and practice the following:

• using the pointed pen
• constructing lowercase and uppercase letters
• improving letterforms and spacing
• flourishing the letters

Escape electronics and the demands of daily life as you step back in time and work with your hands.
