NEW! Discover the timeless art of hand quilting and create a one-of-a-kind keepsake from scratch! During this six-week class, you will learn the learn the step-by-step process of crafting a traditional pieced quilt that measures 45 by 60 inches. It is the perfect size for a wall hanging, lap blanket, or heirloom baby gift.
Instructor Cat Connor has been quilting since childhood and has designed countless hand-pieced quilts. Whether you are completely new to quilting or looking to learn hand-sewing methods, this hands-on course guides you through every stage of the process:
· Design and Layout: Learn principles of fabric selection, color placement, precise cutting, and traditional piecing techniques.
- Assembly and Basting: Practice layering and hand-stitching your pieced blocks, batting, and backing into a finished quilt.
- Decorative Hand Quilting: Practice freehand top-stitching techniques to add beautiful patterns—such as hearts, lines, flowers, and geometric shapes—to your project.
- Finishing Touches: Complete your quilt with clean borders and classic binding techniques.
Step away from the sewing machine and experience the relaxing, creative reward of hand quilting. By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with a completed, handcrafted quilt and a solid foundation of skills to confidently take on your next quilting project.
