Description
In-person class at Fox Chapel Area High School. Everyone must follow FCASD Health & Safety Protocols.
Back by popular demand. An amazing variety of succulents are available to beautify your home both inside and out.
Class fee includes three 2" succulents, a 4" pot, and specialty succulent soil.
Spend a fun evening with Margaret Haas, a passionate, self-taught succulent gardener. After many years of trial and error, she learned from her mistakes and now enjoys helping others learn to care for succulents and help them thrive! The tips are easy. The challenge is following them!
After a lecture, Margaret will lead the group in a hands-on workshop creating your own three-plant arrangement. Learn to safely remove dirt from around a plants' roots, use specialty tools that allow for easy planting, and receive individualized guidance as you create a beautiful arrangement that will be easy for beginners to manage and enjoy!
This class will cover:
- Basic care and how to adapt to the season
- Watering needs
- Different light sources for the seasons
- Proper soil and drainage for your climate
- Selecting succulents to suit your site and growing conditions
- Insect treatment and prevention
- Propagating succulents - various methods
- Succulent stress
- Why it is good to stress your succulents
- How to stress your succulents properly

Parking and Walking Directions to High School Room 241
Fox Chapel Area High School, 611 Field Club Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238
- Parking: Entrances B and C are the closest lots.
- From Fox Chapel Road → Field Club Road → 2nd or 3rd left onto FCAHS campus
- From Powers Run Road → Field Club Road → 2nd or 3rd right
- Enter at exterior door with Adult Education Entrance sign.
- Take a left after you pass through the second doorway.
- Follow this corridor past the water fountain and front office suite.
- Room 241 is the first door on your right just after you pass the intersecting corridor.
