Description
In-person class at Fox Chapel Area High School

No prior cooking experience needed. Just bring your appetite — and a container for leftovers!
NEW! Join Jay Iyengar, founder and owner of Popping Mustard Seeds, for an evening of North Indian cooking. Jay will demonstrate how to prepare three staples of North Indian cooking, then provide hands-on guidance as you work in small groups to make each dish:
- Roti: A simple, soft unleavened bread made from Indian whole wheat flour and cooked fresh on a hot tawa (griddle).
- Dhal: A warm and comforting dish made with Indian lentils, vegetables, and fragrant spices.
- Raita: A cool and refreshing cucumber-yogurt dish that balances the warmth of the other flavors.
Your class fee includes all ingredients to make and enjoy these dishes.
Whether you’re new to cooking or an experienced home cook, you'll learn techniques and recipes you can use to create a complete, comforting North Indian meal at home. Once the cooking is complete, sit down with your classmates and enjoy what you have prepared and the fun of sharing a meal together.
Spend an evening building your confidence with North Indian cooking and enjoying a meal you've helped prepare.
