Description

In person class at Fox Chapel Area High School.

Effective Fall 2025, there are no refunds if you cancel your registration in a one-night class. Students assume all risk for changes in their personal schedules.


backyard birdNEW! Fall and winter are great seasons to get to know the wide variety of native birds as well as migrants that overwinter in the Pittsburgh area, and there is no better place to begin your birding journey than by learning about birds who live in your own backyard.
 
Join Melinda Guinn, a local volunteer with the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania and Tree Pittsburgh and learn the basics of backyard birding.
  • Build your bird identification skills: size and shape, color patterns and markings, sounds, and more.
  • Explore online tools to help you become a better birder.
  • Learn the variety of birds that live right here in our local green spaces.
  • Discover simple changes that will attract more birds to your yard, regardless of size.
