founding fathersNEW! Join Ken Koncerak, a lifelong historian and educator, for an engaging evening that dives into the personal stories and lasting legacies of the key figures who helped shape the United States. Explore the lives of America’s Founding Fathers—John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington—with a possible guest appearance by John Jay, time permitting.

Examine these influential figures not only as revolutionaries and statesmen, but also as individuals shaped by the colonial world, the Revolutionary War, and the challenges of a brand-new nation.

Through rich biography and historical context, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how these men influenced the formation of America—and enjoy some unexpected insights along the way, such as:

  • Who almost died of smallpox in his teens?
  • Who almost always dressed in black?  (Was he our Founding Goth Father?)
  • Who gave us our very first sex scandal - and admitted to it! (Hint - not Jefferson.)
  • Who was not a public speaker and avoided speaking? (But boy, could he write.)

Whether you’re just starting to explore U.S. history or you’ve been fascinated for years, this class offers fresh perspectives on the lives behind the legends.
