Description

In-person class at Fox Chapel Area High School.

NEW! No experience needed. Join this hands-on class designed for anyone who wants to learn to crochet.

Whether you have never held a crochet hook or tried in the past and forgotten how to crochet, this class is for you!

This series is designed to help you build a solid foundation so you can enjoy creating unique pieces of your choosing. The key to creating beautiful crochet items is using consistent tension. This two-week series was designed so you learn, practice in the intervening week to build your muscle memory, and return to receive help on any challenges you encounter.

The goal of these two weeks is that you leave with an understanding of how to create a basic granny square by learning these basics:

  • Making a slip knot.
  • Building the foundation of any piece by starting your chain.
  • Learning the single crochet stitch.
  • Practicing your technique to create the proper tension for your stitches.
  • Basic introduction to reading a pattern.

After watching Amy demonstrate, she will provide individualized guidance to help you perfect your technique and tension.
