Description
In-person class at Fox Chapel Area High School

NEW! Beginner friendly, no experience necessary!
Block—or relief—printing is a centuries-old technique used to create duplicates of a unique image. Learn to turn your own original sketch into a reusable stamp that you can use again and again. Through demonstrations and hands-on instruction, local artist Spencer Jenkins will teach the techniques that will allow you to sketch, carve, and print with your very own linoleum stamp.
- Week 1: Get comfortable safely using the carving tools by practicing on a 6” x 8” piece of linoleum.
- Week 2: Design and carve the final stamp on a 12” square piece of linoleum.
- Week 3: Learn the correct way to apply ink to the stamp using a brayer. There will be plenty of time to practice inking and stamping.
Use your stamp to make a variety of one-of-kind items such as cards, gift wrap, tote bags, apparel, tea towels, napkins, and more! A perfect way to create unique gifts for family and friends!
Class-Specific Notes
